Russia with toddlers - Aurora of Murmansk (part 2)

We started the chase pretty early. By 730pm Michael has already arrived. He said that we are heading to a place further than yesterday. Towards Teriberika, a destination we skipped from thr itinerary as it is pretty far from Murmansk.

According to Michael, Teriberika is a real tundra where the snow sejauh mata memandang. Tapi perjalanan ke sana hampir 2 jam dan Teriberika adalah pekan kecil yang dah ditinggalkan. Not much activities for the kids. Dan gelap plak tu now, so we skipped. 

Backed to the aurora. Michael cakap kawan dia kata awan macam kurang kat area towards Teriberika. Plus, kalau ikut KP (probability Aurora) hari ni dan esok lebih baik dari semalam. KP 4. Semalam KP2. Ada je apps tunjuk KP ni. Aku dah download dari Malaysia lagi. (ni forecast masa aku kat malaysia lagi) 

Di sebabkan malam masih awal. Tak de la penat sangat or anxious macam semalam. Sambil drive, Michael akan cek awan. Wassap dia. Tengok jugak temperature. And malam tu Murmansk ada snowfall so for sure sukar nak tengok if stay dalam bandar. So tour group naik bas maybe tak berapa boleh keluar la. 

Dalam 1 jam lebih kami keluar dari rumah... Dalam 30 km outside of Murmansk. Tetiba apps Aurora bagi notice pop up katanya you will see aurora within thr next 25 minutes (rasanya 25 or perhaps 30... Ntah x ingat... But really soon la). Masa tu aku terus check apps kat phone aku, dia tulis KP masa tu 4.67. 2 kali Michael confirmkan aku yg KP tu 4.67. Dia terus berhenti bila nampak tempat sesuai dan terus tengok langit. Dan keluar kereta bawak kereta. Terus buka pintu n cakap... Aurora is here... Wah... (masa aku tulis ni berderau darah mengingatkan event tu). Like it is really happening.

(screenshot tu aku ambil masa aku tengok 4.67 KP. Dan live location kami masa tu. Boleh tengok actual time tu. And we were at the orange zone. Zone 4 KP ke atas. Kalau dapat Zone Merah tu rasanya KP6. Memang lagi hebat la) 

Michael berlari kebelakang ambil tripod. Kami cuba keluar secepat mungkin. Aku agak stuck sebab salji level peha aku block pintu, x boleb buka penuh. Aku squeeze as much. Muhammad dah tido masa tu, tapi full jacket cuma tak button. Aku grab him while my wife siapkan Hessa lebih kurang. Terus kami keluar... N ready to pose... My wife siap pakai sweater je. And it was freaking call. 

And there you go... The Aurora... Finally.. 

Muhammad x pakai glove masa tu. Semua tangan masuk dalam baju. Nak ambil gambar bukannya senang. Nak kena freeze 10 secs utk capture the lights. Both of the kids memang sangat co-operative. We so happy... 

Tapi untuk mengelakkan jadi beku... Aku ambil semua baju dan gloves etc... Dan the tablets nak panaskan tangan n kaki semua... Then sambung bergambar dan enjoy the scene.

Kami cuba ubah tempat... Tapi awan dah mula tutup aurora.

Alhamdulillah.

Michael masih nak teruskan perjalanan cari lagi. Tapi anak2 dah sejuk. Dan aku rasa kami dah puas hati dah... So decided to turn back. Michael cakap this is aurora for the babies... Sebab by 9pm lebih kami dah balik rumah dah. Ye lah. Semalam keluar sampai pukul 1am pun x nampak. 

Alhamdulillah. Subhanallah.. MashaAllah...

p/s - sempat aku tengok game el classico pukul 10pm dah sampai rumah.
